The Second Annual Mason Chamber Music Festival will take place the first weekend in April in Mason, Texas. The theme of the weekend of performances by Austin's Artisan String Quartet is Mostly Mozart and will include two Friday performances, the Saturday Gala Performance at Mason's Historic Odeon Theater and a Sunday performance.
Spokesman for Austin's Artisan String Quartet and Artistic Director of the Festival Bruce Williams commented, "We are so pleased to be coming back to Mason for our Second Annual Mason County Chamber Music Festival. Last years' Festival was a great success and we are elated to be entering our second year. Mason has been so receptive to Chamber Music and people from the Hill Country came to Mason to experience the Festival, as well. We aspire to grow this Annual event each year and invite fans of Chamber music in the Central Texas area to come to Mason and enjoy all the many events both musical and art related that will be happening the first weekend in April. Mason is quite magical!"

The Musicians
Members of the Austin's Artisan String Quartet are Richard Kilmer-Violin, Caleb Hans Polashek-Violin, Bruce Williams-Viola, and Douglas Harvey-Cello. Guest Artist Steven Girko will be joining the Quartet on Clarinet for Friday and Saturday performances. Sunday's performance by the Sandstone Chamber Players offers a tip of the hat to Scott Haupert of Mason's Sandstone Cellars Winery and a world-class viola master in his own career before moving to Mason many years ago. It was he who originally dreamed of having a Chamber Music presence in Mason. The Sandstone Chamber Players feature the Artisan String Quartet and the Wild Basin Winds comprised of Ian Davidson-Oboe, Steven Girko-Clarinet, Daris Word-Hale-Bassoon, Tom Hale on French Horn along with Rick Rowley -Piano. Stated Mr. Williams, "All of the musicians performing at this year's Festival are accomplished in their own right. Most have backgrounds as symphony performers in major markets and many are solo performers with followings. The Second Annual Mason County Chamber Music Festival is a first-class showing of talented professionals in a location that is fascinating, full of history and so worth experiencing."
