Comedy/Drama ‧ PG ‧ 1h 50m ‧ 1973
The June 19 free Classic Movie Night at the Odeon Theater features the 1973 coming-of-age comedy/drama American Graffiti. Directed by George Lucas and produced by Francis Ford Coppola, the film features an all-star cast in some of their earliest movie appearances, including Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Paul Le Mat, Cindy Williams, Harrison Ford, Charlie Martin Smith and Candy Clark. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and is included on the American Film Institute’s “100 Years...100 Movies” list.
The story is set against the classic 1960s backdrop of hot rods, drive-ins and rock n’ roll. This nostalgic look back follows a group of teenagers as they cruise the streets on their last summer night before college. The film features the howling sounds of Wolfman Jack and an unforgettable soundtrack with songs by Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys and Bill Haley & His Comets.
The Odeon’s Classic Movie Night is the third Wednesday of each month. Admission is always free but we appreciate your donations, which enable us to continue offering these special movie presentations.
If you’re interested in sponsoring your favorite Classic Movie* by underwriting the licensing fee (typically $50 to $250 depending on the film) in part or whole, please email us at notify@theodeontheater.com.
