Artisan String Quartet
On April 4, 5 and 6, the Mason Chamber Music Festival presents four performances at venues in Mason, including the Odeon Theater. This is the ninth annual festival featuring the Artisan String Quartet composed of members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra.
The Odeon Theater - two performances
On Saturday, April 5, the Artisan String Quartet will present “Pop Culture” at two performances at the Odeon Theater, at 1:00 pm and at 2:15 pm. The musicians will present String Quartet versions of pop songs from George Gershwin to The Beatles and Taylor Swift. Complimentary wine and chocolate will be served.
$10 Suggested Donation Per Person
Doors open for the first performance at 12:30 p.m.

Mason County Courthouse
On Friday, April 4 at 7:00 pm, the Festival presents a Gala Concert in the courtroom at the newly restored Mason County Courthouse. The Artisan String Ensemble will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings. There is a suggested donation of $20 per person for the performance.
First United Methodist Church
On Sunday, April 6 at 2:00 pm, the Artisan String Quartet will present “Mason Pops Concert” at the First United Methodist Church. They will perform classical music inspired by the Borodin String Quartet with pieces from the theater: Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis, Wedding March, Rosemund, and Meditation from Thais. Cookies and coffee will be served. Admission is free.
MEET THE ARTISAN STRING QUARTET
Patrice Calixte, the first violinist of the quartet, brings an unparalleled depth of emotion to each piece with his rich and expressive playing. Mariama Alcântara, the second violinist, adds a captivating warmth and lyrical quality to the ensemble’s sound. Bruce Williams, the quartet’s violist, possesses a unique ability to create a rich and resonant tone that forms the backbone of the ensemble’s sound. Completing the ensemble is Douglas Harvey, the quartet’s cellist. His powerful yet sensitive approach to the cello lends the ensemble a solid foundation and a compelling presence on stage.
